As responsible members of the business community, we actively support Columbus City Code Chapter 550 (8/22/2007) which licenses and regulates certain business practices for all local scrap dealers, and helps create a partnership with local law enforcement authorities to identify illegal scrap metal sellers.  Chapter 550 requires all scrap dealers to implement strong uniform item identification, seller and seller vehicle identification, to maintain detailed records, and perform daily electronic data transmission to a central database along with stronger uniform information gathering and retention. 

We believe that in working closely with the Columbus Police Department we will reduce crime in the scrap metal industry and provide a safer environment for the entire community.
